First of all you need to register yourself through the Passport Seva Online Portal that is www.passportindia.gov.in To register, press on “Register Now” link given on the Home Page.
Now, login to the online portal with the registered Login Id
After that you have to hit on “Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport” link.
On the new page, fill in the mandatory details required to furnish in the form and hit on submit tab.
Press the “Pay and Schedule Appointment” link given on the “View Saved/Submitted Applications” screen to schedule an appointment.
Make online payment for booking appointment at the Passport Office. Online Payment can be made using Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa) or Internet Banking (SBI and Associate Banks and Other Banks) or SBI Bank Challan.
Hit on the “Print Application Receipt” link to print the application receipt enclosing Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number.
Lastly, visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Regional Passport Office (RPO) where your appointment has been booked and don’t forget to carry original documents.

Something You Must Know
- It is to be noted that only emergency/medical cases and preapproved categories are permitted to visit Regional Passport Office without appointment.
- In case of minor applicants whose age is below 4 years, a recent passport size photograph (4.5 X 3.5 cm) with white background is required.
- Resubmission of application form is necessary if the applicant does not visit the Regional Passport Office within the time span of 90 days from the online form submission.
