Air India Will Make World Record With All-Female Crew
In a quest to set world Record, Air India has applied for a Limca Book of Records and Guinness World Record for the feat with all-women crew on International Women’s Day.
For San Francisco, the flight departed on 27 February and the flight will returned at the Indira Gandhi International airport on Friday after moving around the world. On Friday, Air India made an announcement, the aircraft, a Boeing 777-200LR, flew over the Pacific last week on its journey to San Francisco, while the return flight flew over the Atlantic, encircling the globe.
An Air India spokesperson said that the airline has already applied to get the name listed under Guinness World Record and Limca Book of Records for this feat.
Air India is well known as the first Indian Airline to operate on the Pacific route which has resulted in reduction of the flying time up to three hours. Air India said, Apart from the cockpit and cabin crew, engineers who certified the aircraft & check-in and ground handling staff is filled with women staff. Besides this, the Air Traffic Controllers who cleared the arrival & departure of the aircraft were also women staff. In order to celebrate “International Women’s Day” which is celebrated on 8 March every year, the flag carrier has also determined to operate similar flights on its International and domestic flights routes.

Shilpa Shetty to Lead International Women’s Day event in New Jersey
The very famous Bollywood actress “Shilpa Shetty-Kundra” is going to attend a women’s empowerment gala in the U.S. Shilpa Shetty had twitted a poster of the event and the tour dates. As per the tweet, Shilpa Shetty has started her tour from Feb. 26 through March 26.
Shilpa captioned the poster “Ok America here I come… Starting with Orlando… Looking forward”. The poster also read: “Celebrating Women’s Day and creating awareness for various non-profit organizations.” On March 5, in New Jersey, she had headline the Women Empowerment Gala 2017 at Royal Albert’s Palace in Fords.
As per the report, the event is hosted by Priyanka Shah of Royal Events and Entertainment and Business NJ. Under the event, women will be given honor, who have achieved Miss New Jersey 2016, namely, Brenna Weick, Mani Kamboj and Rashmee Sharma of Roshnee Media; Rashmi Gupta, entrepreneur -in-residence and advisor of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; Pratibha Kataria, principal owner of Allstate, N.J.; Dr. Kavita Gupta, chair of the American India Foundation, Pennsylvania chapter; Dr. Janhavi Rane, president and CEO of Rane’s Dental Group; Usha Krishnakumar, senior partner, New York Life; Dr. Anju Madnani, CEO, Kaaya Med Spa; among others.

Modi govt’s Women’s Day campaign With Virat Kohli, Alia Bhatt
Actor Alia Bhatt, cricket Captain Virat Kohli and few more renowned faces are going to participate in the campaign of Modi government gender equality campaign “We Are Equal” which will encourage equal opportunity to women On the International Women Day on March 8.
Celebrities like boxer Mary Kom, Priyanka Chopra and former cricketer Virendra Sehwag are also participating under “We Are Equal” campaign.
The social media campaign was launched recently by Union women and child development (WCD) minister Maneka Gandhi to highlight the need for an equal opportunity to women in the field of education, health, nutrition, safety and dignity.
It is part of a series of events planned to coincide with the International Women’s Day on March 8.
A senior WCD ministry official said “These celebrities will spread the message on gender equality on Twitter and Facebook. For instance, wrestler Sangram Singh has posted (on Twitter) with the message ‘Women Hain Toh Men Hai #We Are Equal,”.
