Proof Of Date Of Birth: Statutory Provisions Of The Passport Rules, 1980

In order to get a passport, contenders whose date of birth is 26/01/1989 or born subsequent to it are required to submit Birth Certificate which acts as a proof of Date of Birth (DOB) for the desired authority.   • If the contender has taken insurance cover under Public Life Insurance Corporations, then Policy Bonds containing DOB are also valid.

Major Changes in New Passport Rules

First Rule

Third Rule

Seventh Rule

Only Annexure G is mandatory while submitting the passport application if the case occurs in which children is not born out of wedlock.

Eight Rule
If there arise a condition in which passport is issued to adopted children within domestically country, in that case now registered adoption deed is not obligatory to be submitted. But, declaration needs to be given on a plain paper confirming the adoption by the passport applicant as there is no deed regarding it.

Nineth Rule
Now in Annexure-‘N’, Government officers who are in urgent need of passport can get it by
submitting a self-declaration under it. Keeping in mind, they are incapable to get the Identity Certificate (Annexure-B)/ No-Objection Certificate in Annexure-M. In Annexure-‘N’, they have to notify the employer pertaining for an ordinary passport.

Tenth Rule

Here comes the last rule of Passport in India which is going to delight the Sadhus/ Sanyasis. By means of the name of their spiritual Guru, Sadhus/ Sanyasis may apply for passport application. Remember, they have to clearly mention the name their spiritual Guru in lieu of their biological parent name subject to their giving of at least one public document. They may use documents like Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC) which is issued by the Election Commission of India or PAN card, Adhar Card, etc. with name of guru mentioned on it.
