Toll Free IVRS System launched by GovernmentGovernment has launched toll free IVRS system to report call drops and related issues. Toll Free IVRS System launched by Government is surely a grand step against menace of call drops & call failure. People can directly give their feedback through toll free IVRS System if they are facing such issues in their area and initiatives will be taken by the operators to erase such problems. The IVRS system has launched by the government at multiple places including Delhi and Mumbai, soon it will spread throughout the country, as per an official release.

An Official Release Said-

“In order to obtain direct feedback from subscribers and use that feedback to solve the problem of call drops, DoT launched an IVRS system in Delhi, Mumbai, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Goa on 23rd December 2016”

Communications Minister Manoj Sinha gave his views-

“They can also send a toll-free SMS to the same short code 1955, containing the location of city/town/village, where they might be facing the problem of frequent call drops,”

“The platform is a channel to capture direct feedback from the consumers and this voice of the customer can be used to improve services that are being offered to them.”

To get benefits from IVRS system, subscribe to it and after subscribing, from the short code 1955 subscribers will get an IVRS call and then they will encounter several questions like whether they are facing issues in their area like call drops or call failure or getting good connectivity.

For few days the platform will be utilized for the purpose to record call drops and afterwards the area will widen its scope and then consumers can contribute their feedback regarding connectivity issues in their location. Telecommunication departments have taken a grand step to address the issue of call drops and call failure. Presently, Telecom operators have mounted around 1,30,000 additional Base Transceiver Stations or BTSs across India from the period of June 2016 to October 2016 and now they are planning to install around 1,50,000 additional BTSs across the country till March 2017.

In November, after conducting meeting with the telecom operators heads, Manoj Sinha had assured that his Ministry will establish a platform for the service consumers to give direct feedback on call drops. Surely, this will bring a significant change in the connectivity area. Sinha seems to be pretty serious with his statement he also warned operators that he will not hesitate on imposing penalty and taking other actions if the consumers persist to suffer the menace of call failure and call drops.

“Till consumers say that they are free of call drops, I won’t accept it.. The platform would be.. the right parameter to gauge the call drop situation”
